A
s ever, this issue is filled with a fabulous mixture
of features, which we hope you will enjoy at
your leisure. Why not keep it on your coffee
table and dip into it whenever the mood takes you!
With spring in the air, many of you who are lucky
enough to have a small town garden may be thinking
of how to make the most of it during the summer
months ahead. To help you with your planning, we
bring you expert advice from Randle Siddeley, who is
internationally renowned for his gardening knowledge.
From outdoor style to interior design, we are pleased
to be able to showcase some exciting new trends in
kitchens and bathrooms, all from central-London
suppliers. This may be especially interesting if you
are looking to add value to your home.
Regarding property values, it is easy to get the wrong
impression from isolated stories in the media. The UK
housing market is made up of several micro markets that
often behave differently from one another. This means
that generalised news reports may be misleading – and
the need to understand local market dynamics has never
been more important.
In fact, London property values increased by an
average 2.7 per cent in 2010, although even between
postcodes there were notable differences. Average values
in Westminster, for example, rose by 8.5 per cent, while
in Kensington and Chelsea the rise was 11.2 per cent.
Here at Kay & Co, we are attracting a good range of
investment buyers from home and abroad, as well as an
enviable selection of local home movers. As many as 70
per cent of these prospective purchasers are cash buyers.
Again, I hope you enjoy this latest edition of K Living
magazine. And if you have any questions regarding
property matters of any kind, please feel welcome to get
in touch with me or the Kay & Co team at any time.
