Child Safe
Shopping Scheme
Bayswater Business
Improvement District
(BID) has introduced
a pioneering safety
scheme which offers
a hotline number to
help parents and
guardians find
children who have
become separated
from them while
out shopping.
The Child Safe
Shopping Scheme
enables parents and
guardians to directly
contact the police,
who use a co-ordinated
approach with the
Bayswater BID Street
Ambassadors and
businesses to re-unite
parents and children.

Mary's Living
& Giving Shops
The TV personality
and retail consultant,
Mary Portas, together
with the Save the
Children charity,
has opened a second
Mary's Living &
Giving Shop in
London.
Following the
success of the
Westbourne Grove
outlet, the team has
opened another one
on Regent's Park Road,
Primrose Hill.
The concept of this
shop is loosely based
around the home.
Think English house
meets shabby chic,
with lots of fabulous
fashion thrown in.
As the warmer
weather approaches,
Save the Children
is appealing for
seasonal donations
and for volunteers
to work in either
shop during the
summer months.

Children's Hospice Week
14-21 May
Young people using hospices are getting
involved in Children's Hospice Week by
making masks for Superhero Friday (20 May),
a day of hero-inspired fundraising activities.
So why not encourage your own children
to support the hospices, by designing their
own Superhero masks? They could make
the masks – and you could make a donation
to the charity for each mask they design.
